Who Should Choose Sonos Ray?

Choose Ray when you want a compact Sonos soundbar for everyday TV, movies, gaming, and music but do not need Dolby Atmos, HDMI eARC, or the larger acoustic platform of Beam or Arc.

It is especially useful for bedrooms, offices, secondary TV spaces, and smaller living rooms where a 21.93" soundbar fits more naturally beneath the display.

Four-Amplifier Acoustic Design

Ray uses four Class-D digital amplifiers matched to two tweeters and two high-efficiency midwoofers. Sonos also uses split waveguides to help project higher frequencies across the room.

A proprietary low-velocity bass-reflex port supports low-frequency output from the compact cabinet.

Optical TV Connection

Ray connects to your TV through its optical digital audio output using the included optical cable.

Ray does not use HDMI ARC or HDMI eARC. Confirm that your TV has an optical digital audio output before ordering.

If your TV only provides HDMI ARC/eARC and no optical output, Ray may require a separate compatible conversion solution.

Trueplay Room Tuning

Sonos Trueplay measures the acoustics of the room and fine-tunes Ray for its placement and listening environment. A compatible iOS device is required for Trueplay tuning.

Speech Enhancement and Night Sound

Speech Enhancement boosts voice frequencies to help make dialogue easier to understand.

Night Sound reduces the intensity of louder effects while increasing quieter sounds for lower-volume viewing.

Wi-Fi Music Streaming and AirPlay 2

When the TV is off, Ray can stream music, radio, podcasts, and other supported audio over Wi-Fi through the Sonos app and compatible services.

Apple AirPlay 2 is supported on compatible Apple devices.

TV Remote Control

Ray includes an infrared receiver and can be configured to respond to many compatible IR TV remotes, allowing normal volume control without relying only on the Sonos app.

Expand Into a Sonos System

Ray works as a standalone soundbar, but it can also be expanded with compatible Sonos rear speakers for wireless surround sound and a compatible Sonos Sub for deeper bass.
