The Pure Resonance Audio S8.1 is a 2-way all-weather surface-mount loudspeaker designed for background music, foreground music, paging, and general-purpose audio in indoor or outdoor spaces. Its 8" graphite woofer, 1.1" silk soft-dome tweeter, and OBE bass-enhancement radiator are designed to provide fuller low-frequency response than many smaller commercial surface-mount speakers.

The S8.1 supports 70V and 100V distributed-audio systems and also includes an 8-ohm bypass for compatible low-impedance amplifiers.

Who Should Choose the S8.1?

Choose the S8.1 when you want a larger surface-mount speaker for patios, restaurants, gyms, schools, retail spaces, hospitality areas, or larger residential outdoor zones where stronger bass and fuller music playback matter.

Its 70V/100V transformer makes it suitable for distributed-audio layouts, while the 8-ohm bypass also allows use with compatible conventional amplifiers.

The S8.1 uses an 8" graphite woofer together with Pure Resonance Audio's OBE (Optimal Bass Enhancement) radiator technology to extend low-frequency response and provide fuller sound from the surface-mount enclosure.

When using multiple speakers on a 70V or 100V amplifier, add the selected tap wattages and allow appropriate amplifier headroom.

IP65 Weather Protection

The UV-resistant ABS enclosure is rated IP65 when the rear cover is installed and the speaker is mounted correctly. This provides protection against dust and water exposure for suitable outdoor applications.

IP65 does not mean the speaker is designed for submersion.
